File types and areas of application

Which file types are there?

The file types

  • DTD (Document Type Definition) and
  • XSD resp. XML schema (advanced format of a DTD)

represent the structure defintions of an XML file.

This means: An XML file which shall be valid against the DTD or the XML schema has to include the reference to the structure definition and follow the specified composition of required and optional elements.

Attention: At the creation of XML manuscripts according to the publisher-specific schemata and DTD it is to be kept in mind that the information has to fit within the print space of the Federal Gazette. The print space does not exceed 900 pixels. The publisher reserves the right to decline the order if it does not comply. This primarily pertains to tables with an inadequate number of colums and continuous texts, whose space/spatium were mostly set with fixed spaces. (e.g. ISO #160; or #nbsp;).

In which areas are the files applicable?

The structure definitions are respectively specified for certain publication types within the Federal Gazette resp. the company register and not universally usable. The Federal Gazette publisher offers structure definitions for the following sections:

For annual and financial statements:

XML schemata for annual financial statements

XBRL taxonomy for annual financial statements

For capital market information:

For Judicial Section:
